Home School Lunch Ideas

Image
For the first time our kids are taking a home lunch to school! I’m having such a hard time finding things to send with them. I don’t want them to have the same thing every day, that’s so boring and gets bland. But so far Zain has been fine with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Lydia and Tyler on the other hand want something more than sandwiches. So… I’m going to compile a list of main lunch ideas, some snacks, sides, treats, and drinks. That way I can remember everything and mix and match. We will have them pick one item from each list (2 from sides and Fruit/veggies). Please Note: Our children are picky eaters. So this is a list of stuff our children will eat. There are so many ideas on Pinterest, that include a more wide variety of foods (such as tomato and feta salad, humus, and more) that our children won’t eat, and quiet frankly we (Nick and I) won’t either. 🤣  Main Lunch Ideas: Peanut Butter and Jelly Turkey Sandwich Cheese Sandwich Spaghetti  Buttered Parmesan Noodles Lunch

Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are delicious! If I do say so myself!  I tried making some before, but I didn’t add enough flour. I remade them, with more flour, and they are so much better! Here is the recipe: Ingredients: 3/4 Cup + 2 Tbsp of Butter at room temperature(I used salted) 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar 1/2 Cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar 1 Large Egg room temperature (I just got a fresh one from our hens) 3/4 Cup Sourdough Starter 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract (I used Mexican Vanilla) 2 1/2 Cups Flour (I used all purpose) 1 Tsp Salt 1 Tsp Baking Soda 1 Bag 12 oz. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Directions: In your mixer add the sugars and butter, mix well. Add the egg and mix until it’s incorporated. Stir in the sourdough starter and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt, and baking soda, then add to the mixer with the other ingredients. DO NOT over mix (just mix until it’s well combined). By hand mix in the chocolate chips.  Preheat the oven to 350°. Scoop the cookie dough by tablespoons or use

Pond Lily Pad Plant

Image
In our pond we have a lily pad plant, with gorgeous flowers! I am so happy with our pond.  If you are wanting to add a pond, do it! I would like to share with you a couple of things… 🪷 Make it bigger than you are planning! We are wanting to add another pond and make it bigger! 🤣 🪷 We used liners and absolutely love them! It made it so easy to get it all up and running. 🪷 You should definitely add fish! 🐟 🪷 When you put plants in, keep them in pots so they don’t take over the pond. The plants will give the fish shade and protect them from birds, so you should definitely add them! 🪷 Do you best to keep your dog out of it. 🤣 🪷 Be prepared to see so many birds! They take baths and get drinks. It’s wonderful! Let us know if you have any questions about adding a pond! We’d be happy to answer them! 🥰
