This Is Us

  As everyone knows in March we had a 5.7 earthquake at 7:09 in the morning. Nick was at work, and since the kids didn’t have school we were all sleeping. Lydia had come and gotten in our bed. So when the earthquake happened, I sat up in bed and held Lydia. She was panicking and I just kept telling her it was okay, it’s okay. We couldn’t get out of bed because it was shaking so bad. Zain and Tyler woke up screaming. As soon as it stopped I grabbed Lydia and put her in our bedroom doorway. I told Zain and Tyler to stand by her and I went to find Brichette and Xander. They were on their way upstairs, so I just had them come up the rest of the way and we stood in the doorway for about 5 minutes. Then I grabbed my phone and Nick called. We made sure each other was okay. Nick was at work by his work truck. He said he got pinned between his truck and another one. He got out, and went out of the garage into the yard. He said he could see the asphalt moving like waves in the ocean. He said...

  It’s a weird feeling to have as many masks for our kids, as they do underwear... These are our kid’s masks drying on top of the dryer.  I didn’t want any masks to get misplaced, or the clean ones getting mixed with the dirty ones (they are wearing a clean mask every day). So I bought a basket from  Target  for the laundry room so they can put their dirty masks in. I also bought hooks from  Target  to put in their rooms to hang up their clean masks. This year has been challenging, hard, different, exciting, and scary; but I’m grateful to Heavenly Father and Jesus for helping us through whatever comes our way and for blessing my life with a wonderful husband and kids! I don’t know what I’d do without them!

We are still here. It's been a crazy-busy last couple of weeks, between dance, school, choir, and everything else. Thanks for being patient with us!

Our children have no fear... nothing at all like me. I am so paranoid and afraid of almost everything, but Nick on the other hand isn't. I guess that is why we are so perfect together. He balances out my fears and I help him fear things. LOL!!! Back to the story: The other day our kids were playing with Mieshka's kids on the swing set at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Xander decided that he is as big as Jake and could climb on the bars and Brichette had the swing wrapped around the bar so that it would make her swing higher. See the picture below: Now, imagine... I'm at work and get this picture, with a saying... your kids are monkeys. I take a deep breath, think- they are just kids and Nick is right there, and send back... They Sure Are. I didn't ask how they got up there, got the swing wrapped around the bar, or how any of them got down. I didn't get a phone call that they were hurt or had to be taken to the hospital, and when I got home no one said anyth...
