This Is Us

  Well, it’s that time of year again... First day of school! It’s so weird to have the house so quiet since the kids have been home 24/7 since March! Yes, it is different this year. They have to wear masks Some activities are different, or can’t be done. Our elementary closed and Zain, Lydia, and Tyler have to go to a new school. Brichette is driving her and Xander to school. But we are brave and strong! As long as we have each other, have Heavenly Father helping us, and we do our best, we can do hard things! These kids are so smart. They have such caring hearts and worry about each other. They are amazing and I am so blessed and honored to be their mom! I can’t wait to see the amazing wonderful things they do! Brichette is a senior this year! I can’t believe she’s graduating and will be an adult in January! Xander is a sophomore. He gets to drive this school year! Zain is in 5th grade. Well Brichette is officially a first grader now! She started today, and was so excited... to see all her friends, make new ones, go all day, have school lunch, but most of all to wear her new school clothes and shoes. We can't believe that she is in 1st grade. Oh how fast they grow up and aren't your little babies anymore. It seems like just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital with her and here she is, already in 1st grade. Melissa had a harder time this year then last year, because she's home now and didn't want to let her go. We love you Brichette and know with how smart you are you are going to do great in 1st grade and through all of your school years. You will have lots of friends and unfortunately have lots of boys after you. You are the best daughter parents could have. Here are some more pictures of her: Waiting in line. Starting to walk in. Well yesterday was Xander's first day of school as well (pre-school). He was so excited. I got him up after Brichette, because he fell asleep after she did, and thought he could use a little more rest, got him breakfast and then all ready to go... His hair all spiked, which he made sure I did right, his new clothes and shoes, and his Iron Man back pack (well he says pack pack). He also reminded me that his foot couldn't get wet because of the burn from the sprinkler (the sparkler, but he says sprinkler). So I told him that he needed to tell his teacher and he needed to stay away from all water. Well we took Brichette to school first and after she had walked in the building he looked at me and Lorena and said "Okay, it's my turn now!!" He was so excited... talking up a storm the whole way there. We got there and walked in with him well practically ran in because he couldn't wait to get inside. Well it's official. Brichette is now a kindergartner . She is so excited to be going to school everyday. I took the day off yesterday so that I could take her and pick her up. I got up, got ready, got her up and got her ready. She ate some cereal. We pulled her hair up in one pony tail... It's kind of funny. A couple weeks ago I told her that when she goes to kindergarten we will have to pull her hair up out of her face so that her teacher can see her, and so she can see to do her work, see the board, etc. So yesterday when I was getting her ready she told me that we had to pull her hair up. It was really cute! Then I got Xander up and got him ready for his first day (which is before Brichette's blog). We took Brichette over to school and walked her back to where they meet before school starts. She didn't want to go play on the playground before the bell rang, so she hung out with Xander , Lorena, and me until the first bell rang. Then she stood in line and waited ...
