Winter Nails

Image
I painted my nails two blue colors and used the  Nail Tool  that I bought at the dollar store to make snowflakes ❄️ on my thumbs and small dots (snowflakes) on my index/pointer finger and pinky. I used the regular top coat on my fingers with the snowflakes and the matte coat on the other two. My hands are always red right after painting my nails. I’m not sure why… but it goes away quickly.

Sourdough Starter

Image
Yep! I am going to try and make sourdough! I am so excited! I am using a recipe from  Bless This Mess Blog . Her name is Melissa and she has so many wonderful recipes!  I bought mason jars from Target. I also bought a wooden spatula from  Ballerina Farm . I was told that using metal isn’t good. But I’m not sure. I haven’t done to much research about that, yet! Yesterday, January 6th was the day I started my starter. I have to feed it (give it flour and water) every 24 hours (give or take) for about a week. Once it’s pulled enough natural yeast from the air and gets nice and bubbly then I can start making bread! 🎉  Today I fed it. I hope it’s working! If you want to see videos (they aren’t working for me to upload them on here) you can check out our Instagram (Hechfamfarm98). I’ll keep updates here as I go along!

Peach Chicken

Image
I have been trying to find a good recipe for orange chicken. I still haven’t found one, but in my search I came across one recipe that called for orange jam. Well, we don’t have that. We have strawberry, grape, and raspberry that we make. Then I thought, oh! We have peach jam that my aunt makes. So I substituted it for the orange and… WOW! It is delicious!! So here is the recipe: although, unless you have my aunts homemade jam, it might not be as good. 😉 1 cup peach jam 1 cup bbq sauce (we use Sweet Baby Rays) 1 tsp Onion Powder Sprinkle of Soy Sauce 2-3 chicken breasts cut in chunks Add all ingredients into a crockpot. We just use a few squirts of the soy sauce because we are not to big on it. However, if you like it you can add as much as you want.  Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4.  We use our rice cooker and make some white rice to go with it.

New Floor

Image
In our kitchen and entry way we had tile, and then in our living room we had replaced the gross carpet with wood/vinyl flooring.  We thought it would be nice to have it all match, since it connects.  A little bit ago Xander’s room had water leaking in and we found that the line to our fridge was leaking. We thought it was all taken care of. Then we tore up the floor. Mice had chewed through the line in the floor and it was still leaking. The wood was moldy on top. We had to replace the tubing, but we put a think plastic tube in the floor first and then put a new fridge tubing through it. That way it’s protected. We replaced the wood on the floor and also painted with a mold/mildew paint. We put the new flooring down and new molding. It looks so nice and we really like it. We wanted to replace the floor with tile, but the cheapest we could find was $3.99/sq ft and this was a little before Christmas and we didn’t want to spend that much. So we found the same vinyl flooring that we put

2021 Christmas Jammies

Here are our Jammies for 2021. Brichette’s boyfriend took the pictures for us. Sometimes it’s hard to get everyone looking, without eyes closed or making silly faces. We eventually got one and then took some silly ones of the kids.

Christmas Nails

Here is how I painted my nails for Christmas. I can’t believe that 2021 is over.  I painted all my nails with white, then painted a couple with red and green sparkles. ✨

Thanksgiving Nails

I have been so busy, and then sick for a couple weeks, that I haven’t want to or gotten time to post updates. So… Here is one painting I did for Thanksgiving
