A Great Space

Image
We bought our home in December of 2011. We have done a lot of changes to it. One thing I’m really excited about is our deck. Last year we moved the back door that goes outside, from the family room to the kitchen. Nick built an amazing deck, which we all love so much! We can watch fireworks, have parties, sit and relax, watch the kids play in the pool, eat our meals, soak up the fresh air and nature, and so many more things! It so wonderful! This is what the back of the house used to look like.  We had a little tiny cement pad, and one of the previous owners laid bricks down to make the patio bigger.  The back door was in the family room and there was a large bay window in the kitchen. This is where the door was and we closed it off and put a window in so we can still have lots of light in the family room. This is what it looks like now.  We like it so much better.  It makes our family room feel bigger, since we don't have to try and keep a pathway clear for the door...

It Sounds Great!!!

So Nick has been out of work for a month now. The company he was working for didn't have any more houses, and probably wouldn't until the spring. We have been worried about money, but have been doing okay so far. Which we know is because Heavenly Father has been helping us. Nick had talked to his friend Chad (they used to work together at Home Depot), just to see how they were doing and that. Well Chad talked to his dad, and he offered him a job at the roofing company. So he started there on Monday. It sounds like a wonderful company to work for. They pay 100% of the insurance for the whole family. Nick just has to drive into the office, then they all pile in a company truck and drive to the site. So he doesn't have to use his gas, or put the mileage on his vehicle. Plus he gets paid for driving to and from the site. Also, if he works hard enough (which Nick works harder than anyone I know) in a couple of months he could be made a foreman, and get a huge raise!!!...

The Reason For Nothing!!!

Well Thursday I was pulled into the HR office with Mary, and was told that my position was being turned into a Part-Time position. They don't have the money or the work for a full-time person. But I could stay on until November 14 th as full-time and then if I wanted to, I could have the part-time position. They really didn't want to have to do this, and have been putting it off for a couple months, which I wish they could have waited until after the Holidays, but whatever. So I cried, a lot, and left right after, which was a little bit before I normally leave. Nick called as I was driving away, and I told him what happened. Then I called my Mommy and talked to her. Once I got home I was so tired and depressed, that I didn't want to do anything. The kids were so cute, they asked me what was wrong, so I told them, then they asked why my work didn't want me anymore. I told them it wasn't really that, but just they didn't have the money to pay me anymore. Then the...

Yah, My Husband Did That!

So, I was going through my text messages... erasing some, saving some, and I came across these photos from Nick. This is some of the stuff that he has built and some of the awesome views he's had. This one is up above the Bountiful Temple: He has a nice "corner office" huh? That's a Shed Roof. He's up in park city now, adding on to an already built house. They are adding an extra room for her Gym and making her walk-in-closet bigger. Here is part of it: With my handsome husband... in his SEXY tool belt. WHA HOO BABE!!!!

Are You Sure It's Summer???

Okay, so the past couple of weeks I've had to run my space heater because it's freezing in my office... Well mostly just back by my desk (of course). The only person in my entire office who can't stand to be cold, and has the worst circulation ever. Yes, that says 69 degrees. I feel like my toes are going to fall off, I can't type because my fingers won't move, and I feel like I should be wearing a ski coat and gloves. I can't believe that I am running a heater in July. Although I can usually make it till about 11:00 but by then I have just had enough and I have to turn it on. I get teased for having it going, but I can't help it. It's FREEZING!!! Why do offices have to be the opposite of what is outside... It makes us have to run a fan in the winter because it's to hot and a heater in the summer because it's too cold. What is up with that???
