This Is Us

  Here are our Jammies for 2021. Brichette’s boyfriend took the pictures for us. Sometimes it’s hard to get everyone looking, without eyes closed or making silly faces. We eventually got one and then took some silly ones of the kids.

  Here are our pictures for Christmas this year... We had to hurry because Brichette had to get to her choir concert. So there aren’t very many and they aren’t the best. We used to buy the $3.99 fleece blankets from ShopKo, but since they closed in 2018 (I think that’s when it was), we’ve had to buy fabric from JoAnn’s. It’s more expensive, except for this year. We were able to find a pattern we like (Yetis) in the stuff on sale. It was $2.99 a yard!

One of our family traditions for Christmas is to have matching pajamas and that's what we put on our Christmas Cards. For many years now, over twelve years, I sew everyone's pajamas.  I used to use Colleen's surger (and have her help me), until Dieter and Colleen bought one for me for Christmas.  I've been able to make them all by myself for several years now. It's so fun for all of us to match and I've been able to use my creativity.  I love creating and making things.  I have since I was a little girl.  I would make things with my mom and aunts. Anyway, back to the pajamas...  For most years we would by fleece blankets from ShopKo.  It was so much cheaper than buying the fabric from a fabric store.  Then a couple years ago when ShopKo closed for good, we were forced to buy the fabric from a fabric store.  It's a lot more money, but it's still so fun to have us all match.   I can’t even remember what year we bought our trailer, but it was like 2015 or 2016... Maybe even 2017. Haha! Anyway, we bought it for $500. Yep! That’s it. It is a 1978 camper, and boy can you tell! It’s 70’s green everywhere! But hey, it’s okay! It’s a great trailer and we’ve used it a lot. We haven’t changed anything in it, until this year. We bought outdoor fabric for the cushions and curtains. Two different, but matching, styles for the cushions and a different style, but again matching, for the curtains. Then we bought the peel-n-stick flooring. We also changed out the lights for LED ones. I sewed the new covers to be like pillow cases, so I didn’t have to worry about zippers. We bought the sticky Velcro to hold the opening shut. Although because I was in a hurry, I didn’t buy the fabric kind, and it does NOT work very well. I am going to find the fabric kind! We bought the fabric from JoAnn’s. It was on sale for 60-70% off, which is really nice! Outdoor fabric is expensive...
