Another Fun Getaway - Day 5

Image
Monday was our last day. We had so much fun and didn’t want our little getaway to end. We woke up, had breakfast (cereal), got ready and got everything all packed up to leave.  We took pictures of the kids on the wood fence: Lydia made a girl and boy out of Playdoh: We saw a cute little animal making noise and watching us: Our trailer is old, but we’ve got some good use out of it. Like I said, I recovered the cushions and Nick put down new flooring. One of the other campsites had a dump for our gray and black “water”. So we went there so we didn’t have to drive the whole way home with it. We stopped in a little town in Wyoming to get gas and lunch. Then we headed home. Our drive home: If you are wanting a fun getaway, we recommend this one!

The next day we woke up, ate breakfast, got ready and headed to Vernal to the Dinosaur Quarry.  We didn't leave when we planned to, because Lydia got a bloody nose.  She has never had one before, so we think it was to dry and her body was used to the swamp cooler at home (Nick and the boys need it so they don't get bloody noses in the summer).  We got her all cleaned up, a cold rag on the back of her neck, and a whole box of tissues for her to take on the ride, just in case. We drove through the canyon and got to the quarry.  We had to wear masks and we had to make reservations online for the tram that went up to the dinosaur wall.  Our time was 11:30-12:00.  We could go anytime between that half hour.  We walked through the visitor center/gift shop to where we had to wait.  We waited in designated areas for the tram (numbered with numbers.)  Once it arrives the people coming back down, get off and go around us, and go in the doors to the vis...

We Get To Do What!!?

About a month ago Page invited us to go to her work summer party. Well it was last night, and we had so much fun. Thank you Page for inviting us! It was at Sugarhouse Park. They reserved the big pavilion, rented the blow-up "rides", had a Cotton Candy machine, Popcorn machine, and a Snow-Cone machine. The kids were so excited! The first thing they had to do was go on the rides. We said "You don't want to eat first" and they looked at us like we were completely nuts, which we probably were since we knew the answer... and said "NO!" They ran over to the HUGE slide and couldn't get their sandals off fast enough. We had to leave Xander's socks on because of his burn (which is getting so much better. It's almost healed). He was okay with it because he knows that it needs to stay clean (which is why he is wearing socks in 90 degree weather) and the sock also helps keep the bandages on. He even told me that he had to keep his socks on. So cute! ...
