We Get To Do What!!?
About a month ago Page invited us to go to her work summer party. Well it was last night, and we had so much fun. Thank you Page for inviting us!
It was at Sugarhouse Park. They reserved the big pavilion, rented the blow-up "rides", had a Cotton Candy machine, Popcorn machine, and a Snow-Cone machine. The kids were so excited! The first thing they had to do was go on the rides. We said "You don't want to eat first" and they looked at us like we were completely nuts, which we probably were since we knew the answer... and said "NO!" They ran over to the HUGE slide and couldn't get their sandals off fast enough.
We had to leave Xander's socks on because of his burn (which is getting so much better. It's almost healed). He was okay with it because he knows that it needs to stay clean (which is why he is wearing socks in 90 degree weather) and the sock also helps keep the bandages on. He even told me that he had to keep his socks on. So cute!
So they waited in line and then started to climb up. Well Brichette had no trouble, but it was a little harder for Xander since he had his socks on. The older boy who was behind them asked if Xander wanted help. Xander said Yes, so the boy carried him up the ladder and then even slid down with him. Brichette of course had to do what all the other kids were and BOUNCE down it.
Then they moved on to the next "ride". It was long with a slide at the end. But you had to climb though tubs, tunnels, tall things, over things, and then you could climb up the ladder to go down the slide. There was another older boy there who help Xander through all of it. I think he could have done most of it, but it made him feel better knowing that there was a "Big Boy" there helping. He then held him and went down the slide. Brichette didn't need help at all... she would even jump on the tall things and bounce off. Then laugh her head off and say how much fun it was.
Then they move on to the "Bouncy Castle". On the inside there was a ladder to climb up that lead to the slide that was on the outside of the castle. It was so cool.
Well Xander came down and we saw that his pants were darker in the... You know where area. We asked him about it and then he said that he had to go potty. We told him he already had and should have told us sooner. So now we had to go change his pants. He said "Why? I don't want to change." So we showed him that he was all wet, he did a little chuckle and said "Oh". He didn't even know that he had peed in his pants, because he was having so much fun. So we went back to the car and luckily we had brought the back pack and it had PJ's in it. We haven't been bringing the bag because we didn't see much of a point, since we didn't need to lug around 20 diapers, wipes, change of clothes in case of a blow-out, and the desitin. We got his underwear changed and put his PJ bottoms on. Now, after a whole novel of explanation, you know why in the last half of the pictures he has his Spider Man PJ's on. We told Xander that he couldn't play for a little while, as punishment for the accident. He cried a little bit, but understood. We watched Brichette for a little bit, and then went and got food.
They had Famous Dave's cater it. Which we all aren't big fans of BBQ. I tried to eat the pulled pork sandwich, but ate one bite and couldn't eat anymore. I almost pucked. I really hate pork, but because my parents always told us to at least try it, I did... Are you proud of me? :) I can eat hamburgers but not steaks, and can eat most chicken. But it has to have A LOT of flavoring and not look anything like the animal. So when we buy those little chickens at the store, and chicken from KFC, I have to have Nick pull the meat off the bones for me. I know... I'm weird. That's probably why I can eat hamburgers, and chicken nuggets. But most of the reason I don't like those meats is the texture of them. Anyway... Nick and the kids didn't like it either. They didn't like the flavoring. Page can't eat it, and I don't think Chevonne really enjoyed it either. So we went to KFC / A&W afterwards. But before we left we let the kids go on the rides again.
This time there was another boy helping Xander. I was so happy and shocked at the same time to see so many older kids willing to help him. I thought for sure I would have to climb in there and help, or ask one of them too, but I didn't. They just did on their own. I really appreciate those three cute boys helping Xander. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
We also let them have some cotton candy, and snow cones. Well Brichette didn't want a snow cone so she had 2 cotton candies. She was so excited about it that she grabbed the whole side of it and tried to yank it off the stick. She just about took the whole thing right out of Nick's hand. The one picture shows her finger prints in the cotton candy. Then... in a couple of the pictures she has some stuck to her chin and she said that she looks like Howdy (My sister Jess' Husband Kevin. His nickname is Howdy). It was really cute! They sure love Jess and Howdy... So very much! As do we!!! So anyway... Xander had to have the Red snow cone, so he had it running down his chin.
Then we left and went over to KFC / A&W with them. We ordered our food, and man it took FOREVER for it to be done. They must have had to kill the cow and the chicken in the back, hand grind the beef and cut up the chicken and bread it, then cook it... Drive to Wisconsin for the cheese curds, and then fry them... Pull the potatoes out of the ground, cut them up, and fry them... Hand churn the ice cream, hand make the strawberry sauce, and cut up the Oreo cookies... make the hot dogs (however that is done. Don't tell me I don't want to know... I just want to eat them)... hand crush the ice and mix our soft drinks. I swear it took that long. So we finally got our food ate, and then said goodbye and went home. The kids crashed in our bed, as did I and Nick took them to their beds. Thanks Hunny, I don't know what I would do without you! Love You Lots!
I will post a slide show with our pictures.
