Earthquake 2020

As everyone knows in March we had a 5.7 earthquake at 7:09 in the morning. Nick was at work, and since the kids didn’t have school we were all sleeping. Lydia had come and gotten in our bed. So when the earthquake happened, I sat up in bed and held Lydia. She was panicking and I just kept telling her it was okay, it’s okay. We couldn’t get out of bed because it was shaking so bad. Zain and Tyler woke up screaming. As soon as it stopped I grabbed Lydia and put her in our bedroom doorway. I told Zain and Tyler to stand by her and I went to find Brichette and Xander. They were on their way upstairs, so I just had them come up the rest of the way and we stood in the doorway for about 5 minutes.

Then I grabbed my phone and Nick called. We made sure each other was okay.

Nick was at work by his work truck. He said he got pinned between his truck and another one. He got out, and went out of the garage into the yard. He said he could see the asphalt moving like waves in the ocean. He said it was so weird to see.

Because of the earthquake he came home and we spent the day hanging out and nervous for another one. We had lots of aftershocks and were on edge for months. It’s finally getting better... we aren’t jumping every time a big truck goes by or a car with a big stereo.

We didn’t have to much damage, just a picture frame and some nick nacks.

Tigger and Lucy were so scared... they spent the day by each other hiding in the cubby, on our entertainment center, where we store our blankets.

It was such a scary day, and we will all remember this year!
