Dinner - Porcupines

One of everyone’s favorite dinners is Porcupines. It’s an easy dinner to make and is delicious.

Here is the recipe:

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 3/4 cup Uncooked Rice
  • 2 8 oz. cans of Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
  • Water
Soak rice in hot water for 5-7 minutes. Drain. Add ground beef, egg, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Mix well. Shape into balls. Place in hot sauce pan and brown. Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and 2 cans of water (I use the tomato cans). Swirl sauce pan to mix all together. Place lid and simmer 60 minutes (until most of the water is cooked out and the sauce is thick).
We serve these with homemade dinner rolls.

Brown them:

After simmering. The sauce is thickened and most of the water has cooked down.

Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and water.

Serve with dinner rolls.

Add ground beef, egg, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the rice after it has soaked in hot water for 5-7 minutes.
