This Is Us

  For my birthday this year things were different... It started out with me doing a workout from  Grow With Jo on YouTube . Nick took the day off and we had the kids stay home from school because... Nick's brother's daughter got married on my birthday.  They were married/sealed in the Draper, Utah Temple.  Then in the evening they had their reception at the barn at  Wheeler Historic Farm . After attending their wedding, we had lunch with the kids.  Then when it was time we attended their reception.

  This year for May the 4th be with you, or Star Wars Day, we had my brother (who is actually my cousin, but he’s more like my brother), his wife, and his boys over. We watched Star Wars movies (which is was watching all day) and had Star Wars themed food. To start off the day I made Star waffles with our Dash Star Waffle Iron . I wore my Star Wars shirt that we all wore to Disneyland in 2021. For dinner we had: Sweet and Sour Nina Nuggets (homemade chicken nuggets) Hoth Snow Balls (white rice balls) Light Saber Fruit Kabobs (fruit) Yoda Cucumbers (cucumbers) Padwan Popcorn (popcorn in our Star Wars popcorn buckets) Edible Ewoks (Teddy grahams) Star Wars Gold Fish Crackers For dessert we had Death Star by Chocolate Brownie Sundaes I bought Star Wars plates, napkins, and a table cloth. On Sunday morning, when I went to wake up Zain for church I found Tigger lying at the end of his bed.  It was so cute!

  My favorite color is pink, so obviously I am going to do my nails pink for my birthday! I painted my thumb, pointer, and middle fingers light pink. Then my ring fingers and pinkys with a hot pink. I painted a white star fish on my thumbs and some lines and dots on my ring fingers with this Nail Tool . I painted pink sparkles on my middle finger. Then for the top coat I painted the glossy on my thumb, pointer, middle, and ring fingers and the matte on my pinky.

  Our first gardening beds weren't tall because we didn't have to fill them up with much.  However, it was hard to pick the fruits/veggies, pull weeds, and made my back sore. So Nick has added metal to some of the boxes and built some new boxes taller.  We put cinder blocks and branches in them, then we filled them with dirt.  We moved the strawberries over and planted other stuff in the other new beds..  This will make it so much easier to garden out of. Hopefully we can get the rest of the garden boxes adjusted to taller ones and get other things growing in them.  It's so nice to have them taller... I love them so much!

It's starting to get warmer!  I am so excited for the warm weather.  It was so nice today that we spent some time out in our front yard! For Mother's Day last year, I got  This Patio Set .  I wanted one so we could sit in the front yard and have some shade. It was so nice to be able to sit in the front yard and watch my kids play.

  Today we went to Fantasy Bridal to find a wedding dress for Brichette.  They would only allow Brichette to have 3 guests and they wouldn't allow any children.  I thought about bringing Lydia anyway, but I didn't want to mess up the appointment.  So we decided to just FaceTime Lydia on her iPod so she could see all the dresses that Brichette tired on.  After talking with the lady who was helping us, she said that the reason they won't allow children is because another customer brought there kids and they ended up stealing hundreds of dollars worth of jewelry and accessories.  Plus they were rowdy and annoying.  We told her that Lydia wasn't at all like that, and she said we should have called and talked to them so we could have brought her.  Oh well... I'm very pleased with the lady that we had the appointment with.  She was so helpful and kind. Brichette tried on so many more dresses before find the one she loved.  It's simil...
