Almost Time...

Towards the end of September Xander's pre-school had their open house/meet the teachers night. Because he is going to the pre-school at the High School they start later to give the high school students time to prepare and learn before they are teaching the children. They do have a pre-school director, who is wonderful and is one of Brichette's friend's mom (that's how we heard about it).

Going there got Xander even more excited about going to school, and asked everyday if today he could go. He would be so disappointed when it wasn't. But when the first day finally came he couldn't get his new school clothes and shoes on fast enough, and the time to start didn't come soon enough for him.
We are so glad that he loves school. It will make life easier for all of us with him loving it so much.
The pictures are of him and Nick making a pencil holder out of Legos. It's really cool.

Here is our Pink Chicken Coop that we did ourselves. We built it in 2019. Nick built it and the kids and I painted it. He came up with the plans, after showing him some I liked, and built it. Then Brichette painted the Sunflower 🌻 and bee 🐝 on it for me. It wasn’t very hard to build and didn’t cost much. I love it so much!  We added party lights and pink lights for the night. 🤩

Popcorn

Today is National Popcorn Day (along with National Tin Can Day and Get to Know Your Customer’s Day). We love popcorn! 🍿 We eat it all the time.  We like to make our own, but also like the white cheddar Smatfood popcorn, kettle corn, caramel popcorn, from the movie theater, and even some gas stations. Today I made caramel popcorn. I got the recipe from Nick’s mom. You can find the recipe  Here Xander got this popcorn maker as a white elephant gift. This is the white cheddar popcorn we like. Did you know… Popcorn is over 5,000 years old. World War II’s sugar shortage led to Americans to eat 3x more popcorn. It’s gluten free Nebraska produces more popcorn than any other state. Unpopped kernels are called Old Maids Americans eat 17 Billion quarts every year. It’s the state snack of Illinois. What are your favorite flavors of popcorn?
