Our Trip Part 7 - Huntington Beach

On Saturday before we left we went to Huntington Beach. It was so cloudy and cold that Melissa decided not to get in so she could help keep the kids warm when they needed her to. Nice excuse huh?! LOL!

The kids had so much fun... even Zain and Grandpa. Nicolas and Brichette went out a little further and gathered lots of shells. Which Zain even tasted, Yuck! Grandpa found some sea weed, and Zain loved the feel of it.

After they were done playing, we stopped into a gift shop/food walk-up and bought some souvenirs and ate lunch. The food was very good!

Here is our Pink Chicken Coop that we did ourselves. We built it in 2019. Nick built it and the kids and I painted it. He came up with the plans, after showing him some I liked, and built it. Then Brichette painted the Sunflower 🌻 and bee 🐝 on it for me. It wasn’t very hard to build and didn’t cost much. I love it so much!  We added party lights and pink lights for the night. 🤩

Popcorn

Today is National Popcorn Day (along with National Tin Can Day and Get to Know Your Customer’s Day). We love popcorn! 🍿 We eat it all the time.  We like to make our own, but also like the white cheddar Smatfood popcorn, kettle corn, caramel popcorn, from the movie theater, and even some gas stations. Today I made caramel popcorn. I got the recipe from Nick’s mom. You can find the recipe  Here Xander got this popcorn maker as a white elephant gift. This is the white cheddar popcorn we like. Did you know… Popcorn is over 5,000 years old. World War II’s sugar shortage led to Americans to eat 3x more popcorn. It’s gluten free Nebraska produces more popcorn than any other state. Unpopped kernels are called Old Maids Americans eat 17 Billion quarts every year. It’s the state snack of Illinois. What are your favorite flavors of popcorn?

Brichette's Bridals

  I love to take photos.  It is so enjoyable for me.  I took Brichette's Bridals for her wedding.  We went to a church downtown because they have a huge garden area with a stream running through it. I know I'm not the best photographer, but I do enjoy it. :) Brichette painted her shoes herself! She did an amazing job (like she always does)!
