Another Fun Getaway - Day 4

On our drive to Vernal Friday we saw a turn off for dinosaur tracks. We talked with Dieter and Colleen and they thought it would be fun to go see them. We looked it up and it said it was a kid-friendly hike and not to far away from us. So Sunday we drove to where it was, made sure we had lots of water, and started the hike. It was kind of a harder hike than we thought a kid-friendly hike should be, and it was long, but all the kids did great and walked the whole time. Colleen ended up stopping and waiting in a shady spot for us to come back.

This cute little lizard 🦎 was sleeping in the shade. It let me get really close and then looked at me so I could take a picture. Cute little guy!

Then at the end of the hike, where the tracks are, is at Red Fleet Reservoir. The kids were so excited to see the water, that they all jumped in. I stayed right by them since we didn’t have their life jackets, but Nick, Dieter, and Brichette saw the tracks.

Here are the tracks. They are kind of hard to see.

Here we are playing in the water. It was so much fun!

We got back to camp and made Dutch Oven chicken and potatoes for dinner. It was so yummy. I made cupcakes 🧁 and we also had more cinnamon rolls from breakfast so we cooked those too. Again we sat by the fire and talked. It was another great day/night.

The moon was full. It was so big and bright you would have thought it was the sun!
