Women Inspiration

For day 8 of our photo challenge, it's a woman or women who inspire you.  We chose this today because it's International Women's Day.  

I personally have been inspired by so many women in the Bible and The Book of Mormon.

Bible  

Eve - Without her love and desire no one would have been able to come to this earth, gain bodies, and be able to become like Heavenly Father.

Sarah - (Abraham's wife) her faith in the covenant that Heavenly Father made with Abraham, "I will make of thee a great nation." had to be strong.  It took decades for this covenant to come about.

Mary - Jesus' mother.  Even though she was scared, she never wavered in her faith with Heavenly Father. She knew everything her son was capable of, and it shows when she asked him to help with the wine at the wedding dinner.

Esther - Even though she could have been killed for speaking to the king, her husband, she knew it had to be done and would sacrifice her life to save her people.  She had faith in the prayers and fasting that her family and friends were doing for her.

Ruth - She loses her husband and instead of going back to her family, like Naomi insists on her doing, Ruth stays with her to help.  After some hard times, she meets Boaz and marries him.

Book of Mormon

Sariah - She has a hard time at first, but then finally comes to know that her husband Lehi is a prophet of God.

The Mothers of the Stripling Warriors - Their trust and faith in Heavenly Father was amazing.  With their strong testimonies they were able to teach their sons about trusting in the Lord.  So, when it came time for the sons to stand up and protect their home and families, they never doubted that they would be kept safe because their mothers never doubted.

I know it's not always easy to have these qualities. Sometimes our testimonies get rocked and we doubt, but if we just remember these strong, brave, amazing women then we can become more like them.  We can have the trust and faith that we need to help ourselves and our families through these difficult and troubling times.
