The Zoo oo oo... You can come Too oo oo...

So on Tuesday after the kids were out of school, Lorena and the three of us went to the Zoo. We had so much fun.

When we first got there all of us were so hungry we got something to eat before we did anything else. There was a squirrel that was running around picking up the crumbs from everyone. So Brichette wanted to throw him some food. Instead of her throwing him a little piece of her pretzel, she threw him a huge chunk. I told her that he can't eat that big of a piece and to throw smaller pieces, but when I turned around it was gone. Now I'm not sure if it was the squirrel or the peacock. The peacock was out begging food from anyone who would give it to him. Anyway... we started putting french fries closer and closer to us, and the squirrel kept getting them. The one picture I got he is right next to my feet.

Then we went to one of the Monkey's house and looked at the cute little ones. Then stepped outside and saw some more monkeys.

Then we saw the white alligator. He is so cool. Xander was asking the lady who works there some questions:
Xander: "He has a little green on him, huh?"
Lady: "Yes he does. That's Algae. He gets it from the water."
Xander: "Why isn't he moving?"
Lady: "Because he's sleeping."
Xander: "Why is he sleeping?"
Lady: "Because hes tired."
Xander: "Why is he tired?"
Lady: "From all the visitors."
Xander: "Why does he like the water?"
Finally I looked at the lady and said:
"Welcome to my world..."
I told Xander that's where he lives and had him go look at other stuff. There was an opossum sleeping. It's was really cool... When you looked into his cage all you could see was his butt and tail because of all the reflections on the glass, but when I took a picture, you could see his face. I guess because the reflection counter acted the flash so all you got was the inside of the cage... does that make sense?

Then we saw the elephants and the kids climbed on the metal Rhino. They had so much fun climbing and then sliding down that. Who would have thought that a metal statue could be so much fun.

After that we rode the new Carousel they put in. It's really big and really cute. The only horses on it are two Zebra's. All the rest are different animals, bugs, etc. It's really cool. I could only go on it once, because I get way to dizzy! I hate spinning around!

We went and saw the bears. At first they were just laying around doing nothing. We walked off... Xander climbed on some wood bars that were by the picnic table and said "Look mama, I'm hanging like the monkeys do." It was so cute and I guess looked like so much fun that Brichette had to do it too. After they were done and we walked past the black bears again, they were playing and fighting with each other. It was so cool to see them active.

We walked down by the penguins, and Xander asked for a drink. Lorena helped him, and she pushed on the button but nothing came out, so she pushed harder and it came shooting out like a geyser. Which hit Xander right in the face. He was laughing so hard, and so was Lorena, that they couldn't tell us what happened. Then Brichette got a drink and we walked over to the giraffes. The baby was born last year, but he is still so cute and little... well little for a giraffe. As we were walking up to the new Asian Highlands, which is where the cats are, Xander found some rocks and stuff to climb on.

The Lynx's were out and by the glass, so we were able to get a close up of them. The lady who was there told us that most cats live alone, but since the three (one was hiding) have never been separated, they kept them together.

By that time Nick was home so we grabbed some ice cream and left. The ice cream they have at the zoo, comes in all different flavors. It's vanilla ice cream and the side have flavoring. Xander got Red (cherry), Brichette got Pink (bubble gum), and Lorena got Rootbeer. I don't really like vanilla, plus I thought I might need to eat some of the kids so it didn't melt all over their hands. Which I did. :)

On the way home Brichette started a game, that we had to play the whole way home. She would ask a question and then those who agreed would answer. It was pretty cute, and we had fun.

Thanks Lorena for a fun day at the Zoo!!! Love you!
