National Croissant Day

Yesterday was National Croissant Day! šŸ„ 

Iā€™ve never made them before, but I know they take a very long time to make. One of these days I will try making them, but yesterday was not one of those days. šŸ¤£

I bought some mini ones at WinCo. They have the best ones Iā€™ve ever had (mini and regular)! They are flaky, buttery, and just a bit sweet. They are so good alone but also make a delicious sandwich.

So I made a Turkey, cheese, and lettuce sandwich, with chips and a Coke! Delicious!

Here is our Pink Chicken Coop that we did ourselves. We built it in 2019. Nick built it and the kids and I painted it. He came up with the plans, after showing him some I liked, and built it. Then Brichette painted the Sunflower šŸŒ» and bee šŸ on it for me. It wasnā€™t very hard to build and didnā€™t cost much. I love it so much!  We added party lights and pink lights for the night. šŸ¤©

Popcorn

Today is National Popcorn Day (along with National Tin Can Day and Get to Know Your Customerā€™s Day). We love popcorn! šŸæ We eat it all the time.  We like to make our own, but also like the white cheddar Smatfood popcorn, kettle corn, caramel popcorn, from the movie theater, and even some gas stations. Today I made caramel popcorn. I got the recipe from Nickā€™s mom. You can find the recipe  Here Xander got this popcorn maker as a white elephant gift. This is the white cheddar popcorn we like. Did you knowā€¦ Popcorn is over 5,000 years old. World War IIā€™s sugar shortage led to Americans to eat 3x more popcorn. Itā€™s gluten free Nebraska produces more popcorn than any other state. Unpopped kernels are called Old Maids Americans eat 17 Billion quarts every year. Itā€™s the state snack of Illinois. What are your favorite flavors of popcorn?
